EFC Welcomes Coach Cory Small!

Cory Small

Cory was born and raised in Concordia, Missouri. He has been active with fitness his whole life playing football, track, and rugby. Cory graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a degree in Physical Education in 2013. He then got certified as a personal trainer through NSCA in 2014. A back injury in 2014 introduced me to Chiropractic care where the DC recognized his passion for fitness, decided to hire him as a Head Functional Fitness Coach for their wellness program.

In October 2015 Cory discovered Crossfit when a fellow personal trainer recommended it to him. After the first class he was hooked. The community, competitiveness, and the coaching was all it took. In May of 2016 he obtained his CFL1 and has been coaching ever since. Since obtaining his CFL1, Cory is also USAW certified in Olympic weightlifting as a Sports Performance Coach.

Move well! Learn well! Play well, eat well, and rest well! The Kame Style is with you!”
– Master Roshi

Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now, if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you. You’re better than that!”
