From the Coaches: “Emily has been extremely impressive in the way that she has dedicated herself here at Manta Ray. She comes in early at 5AM and starts her busy days by putting in work at the box first. She never complains and is completely dedicated to the process. Not only does she work hard in class, but recently during our Fit 4 Change Challenge she logged the highest score possible. As we wrap up our 2017 Open, we are seeing even more of her hard work pay off via the leaderboard. Next up, she will be competing at our WOD Wars competition this April 15th. Emily has the right attitude, athleticism, and dedication that makes for a killer combo in our sport. There’s no doubt that it will continue to pay off for her and we are excited to have her on Team Manta Ray for the journey!”

I came across Evolve Fitness Clearwater about a year ago when I noticed their sign on my drive to work. I looked them up as soon as I got to work, bought the Groupon and started the next week. Just like most of you, I was hooked after my first class in OnRamp! Before I joined Manta Ray, my sister and I were always super active playing sports almost every season and club soccer all year round. So of course, we have a little bit of a competitive side to us 🙂 When my sister first told me she had started CrossFit I actually thought she was nuts. But after I moved to Florida I got to see a couple competitions she competed in and I quickly changed my mind… it looked like so much fun! Around the time I joined Manta Ray I was just going to the gym a couple times a week but I never felt like I was seeing the results I wanted. I work a lot…like A LOT lol so I look forward to starting my day at 5am with the rest of my early morning crew! The atmosphere & energy everyone brings makes me feel so motivated to push myself harder every day. I couldn’t be more thankful for the awesome coaches who have helped push me to my PRs and keep me wanting to come back for more! In the year that I have been here, I feel like I have made some friends who also feel like family. I am seeing results I never thought I would see and I feel like I have a fire in me to keep pushing to be the best I can. Looking forward to see where I’m at a couple years down the road. Thanks for letting me be a part of the EFC Fam 🙂
