What is a diet break?

Last blog post, I talked about some cues your body might be giving you to indicate you might need a diet break. If you missed it, it’s here.

But what even is a diet break?

A diet break is also known as “maintenance phase.”

After 12-16 weeks of eating in a caloric deficit, it’s usually a good idea to do 1-2 weeks where you increase your intake to maintenance level.

I talk more about what a diet break consists of in this video 👇🏻

During these weeks, you also might:

👉Add in an extra rest day

👉Use lighter weights in gym or lower intensity during workouts

👉Try to get a little more sleep

This helps your body to recover and prepare for the next phase.
