New Member Spotlight: November 2017

Evolve Fitness Clearwater has been around for 4 years now and we have formed a pretty tight, and undeniably awesome, group of people. With that being said, our community is constantly growing. We would like to highlight some of our new members each month as we welcome them to the Manta Ray family! Check out a few of our newest members below and their short bio. Make sure to make them feel welcome when you see them at the box!

I am from Barrington Hills Illinois and came to Florida for an excellent education and career. A couple friends told me that I had to find ‘The ONE Thing’ in order to keep me progressing forward. After brainstorming I decided to look into Crossfit. Manta Ray was fairly close to home and work, so I came in to see how everything was. Long story short, I have found ‘The ONE Thing’ and joined the unlimited, one year CrossFit and Fitness membership.

Although I enjoy lifting weights, doing cardio by myself is like trying to get a kid to eat vegetables: a lot of crying and bargaining.  I looked around at both CrossFit and fitness facilities and kept hearing great things about Manta Ray.  Because I moved to Florida from St. Louis, MO about a year ago, I figured it would also help to meet some new, fun people.  Both the workouts and people have been amazing!
My life is summed up by a motto from my grandpa: “Smile. Even if it hurts.”  …I think he was talking about bottom burpees.

Carley Melendez

I am a Florida native and graduated from USF with my Accounting degree. I currently am the controller for a commercial real estate development company of which I’ve worked for the last 10years. I’ve been married 11years with 1 crazy 6year old boy. I love to be active wakesurfing, snowboarding, camping and recently found myself wanting more from a gym. Manta Ray family and coaches have exactly what I’m looking for as everyone is friendly, knowledgeable, give me that extra push all while increasing my strength & endurance to help me reach my goals.
