Cliff was born in Oahu, Hawaii and grew up in Sarasota, FL. Sport has been a huge part of his life since the age of 6. He was always an active competitor growing up. Eventually lettering in two sports in High School and receiving recruitment letters for both baseball and football. Life had other plans and he enlisted in the United States Air Force in September 2002. There, he rose through the ranks receiving awards and commendations for his leadership and contributions to our great Nation. His time in the service not only strengthened him physically but mentally, as well.
After being Honorably Discharged from service in September 2008 as a Staff Sergeant (E-5) he moved back to Sarasota with his wife Jessica and daughters Sophia, 11 and Lily, 8 where he began his career as a financial advisor. There, he talks with people from all walks of life about their goals and the discipline necessary to achieve them. That ability, to take sometimes complex concepts and relate them so that they are easily understood and executed is a great strength he prides himself in. These skills have served him well in his coaching role.
Cliff started on his journey of health and wellness July 3rd 2014. He had no idea then, that it would become a tale of self awareness and growth but here we are 633 days later and he feels like a better husband, father, friend and man. Cliff became a CrossFit Level 1 training coach and a member of the EFC coaching staff in April 2016.
His passion, excitement, knowledge and love of CrossFit have hopefully endeared him to our members, his friends that he is now coaching. “I hope that my journey will inspire our community.”
